No, I didn't know him well.
No, I was't close.

But I Knew him. I know him. Maybe not as the person that some people know him as.
Maybe not as the person some people wished him to be, wish him to be and want him to be.
But I knew him.
An odd man.
A good man.
A man that people I care about care about.
A man that managed to make me respect him, admire him in ways.
A man...
A geek.
A poet.
A friend.

In my time on this earth I have lost a few.
Misplaced a few.
Displaced more than my share, I'm sure..
But
None have been lost on my web since one.
None have impacted so many I love
I cherish
I want to hold, to tell it'll be alright
To let know there's nothing that will end their world.

I couldn't be there for you,
Not in person.
Not in place
But I will be there for you none the less.
To guide.
To aid.
To show.

I will be here to help those that don't, that won't, that can't understand.

today, saturday the 17th of January 2009, a friend of mine will be taken off of life support. I can't be there.
Today, a friend and a love of some of my loves... a member of my family as it were, will take the next step.
Today, the world becomes infinately less cool.
