The Great Sushi experiment
Apr. 15th, 2007 09:14 pmTonight, I did something I never thought I would do.
Tonight, I accomplished something I am somewhat proud of.
I made sushi.
khydeeaunta and I went to go do groceries, and I had been tossing the idea around for a bit so we decided to get the fixings.
A nice guy at a fish store in the Jean-Talon market helped us with the right fish and such (seeing as he works at a *gasp* fish store), and then it began.

First, I made the rice. This took about an hour, after washing it first. Then it was the fish and the veggies (Is an avacado a vegetable?)
But we did it. And with these so very very pretty result:
All said and done, the experiment was successful, and will be replayed in the future.

[edit] Things to remember when making sushi:
-Rice is sticky
-Paper is brittle
-The Mat helps, but isn't needed
-Rice is sticky
-the cat will want some of the fish
-the first cut is the messiest
-The rice is still sticky
-The cat will still want some of the fish.

Date: 2007-04-16 02:05 am (UTC)yes me and Q had much fun trying this ourselves too. I think Avacado is a fruit because the seeds are on the inside of the eaty part not else where on the plant...
