It’s almost here!
We know you want to come to What The Fur. We know you’ve been waiting anxiously for it. And we’ve been working hard to make sure that you, our guests, will have more to do than you have time to do it in. What have we got in store for you now?
-During the opening ceremonies of the convention, we will host the resurrection of an old tradition that promises to tempt your taste buds into prematurely ending your diet plans for the year: The Chocolate Social. Sample some of the best chocolates available as you get ready for the convention.
-Programming, programming, programming. Our schedule is now available online! Although things might happen to change it a little bit before the convention starts, our timelines and panel outline is now online on the Programming page of the website. Over the next few days we will add the descriptions of the panels so you know exactly what it is you need to attend.
-Events anyone? We’re loaded to bear with things to do, from our Rock Band competition on Friday night, to the Masquerade, fursuit parade and dance on Saturday, and even with Fursuit Games and Charity auction on Sunday.
-Don’t forget the Dealers room! With a fine range of artists and vendors in attendance, we’re sure you can fill all of your purchasing needs.
And if that weren’t enough, you’ll be visiting the heart of Montreal, one of the most beautiful cities on the continent. If you feel you want to leave the convention for a few hours to take in some of the sights, or even if you just want to go find a nice restaurant to have a meal, you don’t have far to travel. We will be providing everyone with a map of the closest and best places to eat, so your only worry will be the choice!
If you find yourself in Montreal on Wednesday, June 2nd, and are looking for something to do, we have something for you! Con*Cept, the Montreal Science-Fiction and Fantasy convention, is holding a fundraising movie evening at the "Nouveau Théâtre Ste-Catherine " (264 Ste-Catherine Street East).
There will be a special presentation of the cult classic "Plan 9 from Outer Space", followed at 10 PM by the movie "Missile to the Moon".
Both movies will be presented with comments from rifftrax.com; the same minds that were behind Mystery Science Theater 3000.
There will also be a special presentation of the play "Shades of Grey" between the two movies.
The event starts at 7PM and the entry is free (Donations are both welcomed and encouraged)
A few reminders:
-Registration will open at 2:30 PM on Friday. We ask that all those who have preregistered for the convention have their confirmation code and/or email confirmation with them to help speed up your registration experience.
