Foiled by a $7.00 piece of hardware
Apr. 3rd, 2005 06:28 pmSo, Karen and I went on an upgrade binge today.
I felt elated! 3200 AMD 64 processor, new motherboard that will handle it and with a wireless connection built in, new video card.
Pulled apart Blackavar to put the new bits in... and FOILED!
The ATX power supply needs a converter to go from a 20pin to 24 pin connector to the motherboard! About $7.00 or so at the same store I bought all the components at.
BOOARGH!
well, I guess a trip back tomorrow before the hospital visit is in order.
Just the fact that in none of the online documentation about the parts did it mention this small fact.
*grumble*
