Adventures at work
Jan. 10th, 2007 09:05 amWell, here I am. 9:05 by my computer clock at work.
One of my co-workers is absent. No one knows/is saying why. He was in one day last week, on Wednesday, and that was it. Could be he is sick, a rumour is that he might be in the hospital for some operation of some kind. All I know is that this leaves me holding the bag.
See, I'm the Helpdesk for one of the lines of business that we handle. He is the other. As such, and seeing as there is no AM coverage if he's not in, my TM asked if I could come in earlier and cover, getting 2hrs of over time a day until at minimum next week (or he comes back, whichever happens first).
This means until further notice, I'm working 9:30 to 20:00.
Ugh.
Oh well, at least these 2 hours a day are paid at 1.5x (So I get paid for 3)... or I can bank them to take a day off somewhere when we're not so understaffed.
For now, I'll take the pay.
At least I have my Bodum mug and some fresh coffee stashed in my drawer.
