One shot in 5... or 6

So my TM at work has accepted a position in his old department starting Sep.17.
What does this mean? It means my Director is on the hunt for someone to replace him, interim for 4 months.
I applied.

I spoke with my TM first, and he's cool with it. Then I went and chatrted with my Director. He was all for it. Probably because I'm the one person in the building that has the most experience with the product our team supports (7 years almost, the next closest is 4 years, then we're in the 1s). I have coaching and supervisory experience. He said he's only expecting 5 or 6 applicants, and pretty much straight out told me to apply without saying those words.

After I sent my CV, one of my teammates came up to me, not even knowing I had applied, and said flat out "I hope you're the one who gets it."

I already have a fan club :P

Answer the phone, it's a helpdesk call.
Me: "Bonjour Soutien National, National Channel Support this is Chris what can I do for you?"
Rep: "Hello my future TM..."
Me: "Hey, not yet I'm not"

*chuckles*
